In Loving Memory.
Monday, December 21, 2009 at 10:00AM M.'s Grandfather (First Row, 2nd from Left), in Korean, 할아버지, "Ha-ra-bo-gi", passed away from this life and into the next on December 14th after nearly 90 years.

One of M.'s most vivid memories of his grandfather was when M. was about 7-years old.
M. regularly watched his grandfather step outside of his apartment to smoke a cigarette. Begging to try, M. took his grandfather's cigarette, and listening carefully to grandfather's guidance, took the cigarette to his mouth, and sucked in as much as he could. With grandfather mildly amused but watching carefully, M. choked on the smoke and coughed so much that the lesson would never be forgotten.
M.'s grandfather was gentle and powerful like that. With little English or Korean spoken, M.'s grandfather taught him two life lessons in 1 sitting: 1) careful what you wish for; 2) smoking is not cool.
Harabogi will be missed though we know he is always with us through these memories.
