TRAIN!

(Pretty much everything A. says can be summed up in CAPS and an exclamation point . . . )  Day two into our colds, and A. and I needed some fresh air (it's a sunny, breezy 64 degrees today). So we headed to A.'s most favorite destination:  a pathway alongside Metro, Amtrack, VRE, and freight train tracks (which is also nicely visible from A.'s dinner chair).  And, fortunately for us, the Metro runs quite frequently, providing A. with endless entertainment (none of these pictures reflect just how well you can see the metro as it passes, but it's so close you can nearly-clearly see the folks on board).

A. loves to spot the train and yell - what else? -  "TRAIN!!!!"  As the train passes, A. then yells and waves "BYE-BYE TRAIN!!!", practically running after it.  When we're lucky, the train conductor spots A. and toots the horn for her - that is a BIG deal (we got one toot today!).  After the train is out of sight, A. signs and exclaims,"more! more!  more!"  If only the metro trains operated on demand . . . you know how many commuters (and their waiting spouses) would like that?!
