Best Soup Ever. And A Playdate.
Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 01:39PM Wednesday was home to a trip to Falls Church to see friends J. and A. (born just two days before our A.). I couldn't wait. A. would have a playdate and the two expectant mamas (yes, J. is expecting, too - February 16th! It's cosmic, I know) could relax and nosh on all things yummy. For my part, I brought a Trader Joe's whipped-up gingerbread cake (you absolutely have to stock up on this stuff before they stop carrying it; it's seasonal, but not around long enough!).
But in the end, it looks like it was the girls who were relaxing. They enjoyed *pretend sleeping*. And when one would poke her head up, the other would tell her - in their own 18-month old words - to go back to sleep.
And, of course, they enjoyed eating, too . . .
I snapped this picture after missing the two of them sharing a chair together. Darn. Maybe next time. You can never be fast enough when it comes to photographing two toddlers together, right? Back to us . . . we did our fair share of relaxing and catching up. And I loved and completely polished off my two heaping servings of J.'s black bean soup. I HEART SOUP right now. I want to eat it all day long. And, with all the chatter that day, I sadly forgot to snag the recipe. Hmph. Must e-mail J. now.
