Waiting.
Friday, October 22, 2010 at 01:45PM Hello, all. A. and I had to set out for my midwife appointment this morning (22 weeks!). And while I gathered a bunch of goodies to keep her happy during our wait (there is always, like, a wait), A. just chilled (then enjoyed a snack, insisting that Pink Bunny - who has graduated to underwear - enjoy a snack, too).
So, what was in our midwife-appointment toolbox? Grapes; strawberries; animal crackers; books; and what I call the "salt and pepper toothpick game," which requires A., under close supervision, to insert the toothpicks into the little shaker holes. Best of all, it commands some serious, calm, undivided attention and is perfect passing the time. As for the appointment, I had a growth spurt (e.g., weight gain) I'd rather not discuss (but that didn't stop me from inhaling two miniature Twix after my ricotta-coated eggplant lunch). Baby D-2 is doing well, and his/her heartbeat sounded like a healthy herd of galloping horses. Then, wow, one more appointment and after that the visits to the office become bi-weekly (unthinkable! Where has the time gone?!). Next picture: 24 weeks (I may have doubled in size by then).
