A Tree Is Nice. (And so is pumpkin pie.)

Tuesday morning, A. and I walked into town to Hooray For Books, a local children's bookstore, to fetch a few new books (it felt funny to actually pay for books when we've been borrowing ump-teen zillion books from the library for free).  And I think I found my new favorite, favorite book:  A Tree Is Nice by Janice May Udry.

I like it so much that I read it to M. and A. over our ritualized pumpkin-pie-before-A.'s-bedtime.  A. liked it so that she ditched the pie (she's seemingly more excited about the routine of our dessert than the dessert itself.  As M. dished out our treats, A. yelled, "hooray!  hooray!  PUMPKIN PIE!").  I can't say that my book-favorite is her favorite, though.  She latched onto a Thomas the Train book and would. not. put. it. down. (The sales clerk had to scan another copy of the book since A. wouldn't loosen her grip on her new love.). Anyway, back to A Tree Is Nice.  Check out this book!  It's lovely and sweet and simple and the illustrations are wonderful, save for a fantastic message.  Enjoy!
