Farm Days 2010.
Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 04:08PM Wow. It is beautiful outside today and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for our Falls Church City Farm Day, spent with the M. family (and thank goodness. Our morning - all before 10AM - was wacky. Think cinnamon-roll frosting rubbed all over A.'s cheeks like lotion, a total crib-sheet and cover change [which rarely happens], new O.J.-splat discoveries after a recent major O.J. accident and [it gets better] learning that someone stole our credit card number. Nice).
Readers might remember that A. and I met B. and K. at last year's Farm Day and, then, baby O. was still in his mama's tummy. It's hard to believe he's now 10 months old! And Miss A. is an entirely different child, too. Here she is last year (adorable!).
I gotta tell ya, I'm loving that ear sticking out from under her hat. She's so little and chubby! We enjoyed this year as much as last year, even more since the littles were so into everything around them including, but not limited to, the farm animals, pumpkin painting (pictures to come; the M.'s got great shots of O. and A. with paint on their faces), pony rides (O. loved the pony ride; A loved the ponies from a distance), and gettin' down to the band.
It should go without saying that A. was thrilled to see O. They definitely had a bit of a love-fest going (apologies to O. for A.'s desire to lift up his shirt, stick her fingers in his mouth, in his eyes . . .).
We're definitely looking forward to returning next year . . . but with two? Wow. And we thought we had out hands full this year with A.'s paint-on-the-face (not to mention the tomato she smushed into my shirt during lunch) and her desire to bound from one place to another. Whatever the case, as tired as we may be, we always have nap time to look forward to . . . which is where you'll find A. and M. right now, taking an afternoon snooze.
