Happy Thanksgiving, 2010!

Happy, happy, happiest of Thanksgivings to you and yours!  Isn't Thanksgiving the best holiday ever?!  We're staying in this year, keeping things small and intimate.  M.'s preparing a turkey as I type and all the other wonderful holiday sides are ready to go.  Before we rolled up our sleeves, though, M., A., and I enjoyed a crisp, cool, Fall walk to Whole Foods, where we shared a giant slice of carrot cake, coffee, milk, and fruit (and by the way, the place was empty:  if you're okay with buying a 50lb turkey verses a 12lb turkey, Thanksgiving day is the day to grocery shop!).

Yum.  Why not add to the gluttony of Thanksgiving with some sugary morning treats?  Then, as we headed home, the King Street Metro Station was not lost on A., who pleaded, "ride the train?  ride the train?"  And so I headed home with the stroller and groceries while M. and A. hopped on the Blue Line for maybe a 1 and 1/2 minute ride to the Braddock Street station, just seconds from our doorstep.  Here's a self-portrait of A. and M. at the station, the famed George Washington Masonic Memorial behind them.

By the time I reached our community, their train passed me by and I was able to wave at them.  According to M., A was very excited to be on the train and very excited to catch a glimpse of mama.  We hope your day is filled with treats and excitement and lots of love!  Happy Thanksgiving!
