Monkey See, Monkey Do, Part II.
Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:43AM Yesterday, following some major Thanksgiving noshing the previous day, we desperately needed to exercise. So what better to do than head over to the National Zoo and follow some elephant foot prints (to some elephants, of course)?
We braved some cool-becoming-cold temperatures and wind and caught up with some of our favorite animal friends, especially the orangutans and gorillas. A. really, really loved these guys, especially this close encounter with a very-giant orangutan.
And getting her to leave the barn (which was actually empty) and her dear friend Tulip, who was nearby, was not easy (but made for a great barn picture, right?).
Folks, this zoo is great. It's just the right size, it's pretty, it's FREE (compliments of tax payers' dollars, of course) . . . you should really visit us and let us take you there (and hopefully next time we'll find the hippo - A.'s favorite animal these days - whose home is under construction, and stop in to see the pandas). And you'll like it. We promise. Now, start planning.
