Almost.

A. is seriously, seriously into "Klaus."  She never objects to my off-key rendition of her favorite, favorite song, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.  We have pictures of Santa everywhere, taken from previous years' holiday cards, framed and placed throughout the house (thanks, Grandma T. for adding to the collection!). And then there's the daily and nightly favorite book, The Night Before Christmas, in which A. loves to gaze at Santa and his reindeer.  And we can't forget the plastic cookie bucket, adorned with Santa's face, that A. took to at our recent trip to Target (no, A. didn't want a toy or a cookie.  She wanted a $2 bucket with Santa's face on it. Yes, we bought it for her.).

But when it came to meeting the jolly man from the North Pole, this is as close as we got (along with a great birds-eye view of the bearded gift bearer) . . .

Our raincoat-clad daughter (who insists on always wearing the attached hat, outdoors and indoors) was most definitely entranced by the sight of Klaus (seriously, though, I would've paid double to see A. in her rain gear, sitting in a winter wonderland on Santa's lap).  And we had absolutely no expectation that she'd want to meet him.  Indeed, when asked if she would like to sit on his lap, A. responded with an emphatic, "no."  And that was fine by us.  It was fun and nice enough that she enjoyed watching him and gazing at his bright, happy village.  That was magic enough for us.
