Cold, Cold, GO AWAY.
Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 08:23AM No, not so much the cold temperatures as much as A.'s second big cold of the season. And it isn't even officially winter yet. Sigh. Just after our adventure into D.C. on Monday, A. woke up from her nap with a brand-new cold, writhing in pitiful tears. Poor A. Poor, poor A.
Like any parent, I'm frustrated that A. has to endure the discomfort of a cold. Frustrated, too, because we have rarely left the house the last few weeks and M. and I have remained quite healthy this cold season (knock on wood). But yet A. caught these miserable bugs (there was that fever, too), despite our best efforts at keeping our hands clean (wherever we are and go), clothes washed, selves bathed, and house sterile (literally). (Of course, I'm questioning a few interactions we've had with folks who may have not kept their [at least visibly] sick children at home [WHY, PEOPLE, WHY?!] but really, what's the use in wondering? The sources of colds are many. And we can't stay indoors all winter and examine folks at our front door.) Anyway, enough of my grouchy rant. Back to tending to my sniffling, unwilling-to-nap (but sleeping at night), yet still in high-spirits one. Until the next time, wash those hands and stay well!
