MERRY CHRISTMAS '10!
Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 10:55AM Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! It's a merry one here. A. was awake at 6:24AM and I heard her shout, "LET'S GO!" For Christmas morning, that seems like an appropriate declaration, right? Not so much. A. really wasn't interested in opening gifts. At all. In fact, her first stop - after a play kitchen from the great-grandparents - was her favorite ornament on the tree.
A. was more interested in us opening her gifts, then she played with each gift, turning our gift-opening into a nearly 4-hour event (we pushed off her stocking until post-nap). But, as my mom said, she had a smile on her face all morning, discovering all of her new toys and activities (and lots of new books, included. Hooray!). I can see why: I'm not one for buying A. toys and she's was still making use of toys given to her when she was 8-months old!
A. was definitely affected by the extraordinary day. She barely napped and was in the most playful mood. While we were bleary-eyed and in need of a nap (or even a little break from the serious playing), we muscled through. Eating mad amounts of food and lying around - in our pajamas - the entire day amongst the tornado of gifts that landed in our living room the night before.
