Fever Cheeks & 28 Weeks.

Boo.  Cold and flu season.  It's upon us.  Well, at least fever season is upon the D. household.  Poor Miss A. suffered from an extended fever two days ago.  It just would not go away and surpassed 102 at one point.  But she was in pretty good spirits, despite resisting fever reducer for the first time, conveniently, at 1AM Wednesday morning.

As you can see, she had the tell-tale red cheeks associated with a fever.  And the glassy eyes (after the second shot above, A. protested with, "No!  Mama, mama, please!").  And some definite increased unhappiness.  And mama and papa didn't go unaffected.  We were so tired.  And now we're so happy that A. is better.  But before she made her recovery, I managed to catch a rare shot of her lying down . . . 

Trust me.  This didn't last long.  Maybe 8 seconds.  

Today was midwife-appointment day (and it's also "M.-took-a-vacation-day [YAY!]" and "Mama's-goin'-to-dinner-in-the-city-day [WOO-WOO!]").  All is well!  Heart rate is higher than last visit (hmmm . . . girl?) and - hooray! - baby D-2 is head-down.  Now stay that way baby, you hear?  

For my part, I'm a little pooped. In addition to an recovering Miss A., too much nesting, too much moving around?  A busy, otherwise healthy 20-month old to chase after? Growing baby D-2 (most likely)? Cold weather?  To help, I've taken up daily exercise, which I started a month ago and has led to improved energy (since I've zapped it with my daily projects and chasing after A.), better posture, more strength, and fantastic sleep (save for sleepless-feverish babes).  One thing has led to another and I'm now a dedicated Wii-Fit player (e.g., marching, stepping, biking, hula'ing, and balancing), every evening for at least 30 minutes, and an every-other-day arm-exerciser (with some measly 2lb weights, to be safe) under the watchful eye of M. And no, I'm not doing this to lose weight.  Just ask the 5 cookies, Trader Joe's pizza, and the four chicken nuggets I ate yesterday (combined with other, better things like dressing-coated salad and homemade black bean soup with a generous dollop of sour cream, of course).  I'm definitely not working towards bikini season.  No, sir.  I promise.
