Vacation Day 5, Part I: "Oh-shee!"
Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 01:55PM With the threat of Earl still looming over our heads, we're trying to be upbeat, enjoying what little may be left of our vacation. As Yogi Berra said, "it ain't over till it's over." And right now, it's sunny, clear and - as with every day of our trip thus far - the Outer Banks are sparkling.
So, this morning when A. woke us up with her request to go to the beach, "oh-shee? oh-shee? oh-sheeee!", we put our sunscreen on, held our chins high and headed for the sand. And, no sooner were we there and enjoying a stroll along the "oh-shee," A. fell asleep. Why nap indoors when our beach days are numbered? Amen, daughter!
The day is still young. A. is taking a second nap (the salty, breezy air will do that do a gal), we're going to take in our A.'s-naptime-movie (so far we've enjoyed The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, State of Play, and Julie & Julia. Today: Duplicity.), and as soon as she wakes, to the oh-shee!
