First Haircut.

Today, A. got her first haircut!  And it went so well!  I was reluctant to do this, but her bangs were hanging in her eyes and the hair was starting to look a bit unkempt.  I took her to a silly-kid place, Cartoon Cuts, where they plop the littles in front of a tiny television and hope the distraction lasts long enough for a styling (don't worry A., you'll be ready for the fancy salons soon enough).  Well, A. wasn't interested in the T.V.  She was mostly interested in the little boy next to her and the container of bubbles the wonderful stylist gave her.

The end result was fantastic!  (My deepest fears didn't come true:  Not too much was snipped, e.g., no extremely short bangs, and her back curls were preserved.)  I didn't snap a great picture of the finished product and she's sleeping right now.  But I promise I'll post something soon.  A. sat perfectly, on her own, unassisted.  To my shock, she didn't even blink when it came to trimming her bangs.

She was not interested, however, in the blow dryer.  So, we stopped there and gave many, many thanks to the wonderful, kind, patient, sweet woman who has the wherewithal to trim toddlers hair everyday.  Then we were off for what else?  Clothes shopping and lunch (oh, and new fixtures for our basement bathroom.  Mama is very excited about those), of course.  What a fun day with my girl!
