Voilà!
Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 06:48PM Looky, looky, looky! Save for some mulch, THE LANDSCAPING IS COMPLETE! And a super, giant thank you goes out to my mom for the serious physical labor that she put into our front space and to my dad for his manual labor and support, too. Thank you, thank you, thank you, mom! And, thank you, thank you, thank you, dad!
With the assistance and insight of a professional (I absolutely cannot and will not take credit for the whole design), my mom's clearing and planting sweat equity, and my dad keeping A. busy and hauling the heavy stuff, I have a very pretty entrance to our little home, if I do say so myself!
What did we plant, you ask? Everything sun-loving and, for the most part, perennials. In the far left corner, a boxwood. Next to that, two nandina (that should color nicely this Fall). In front of those, hameln grass, some variety of ivy (that was already there) and other ground cover, plus a dash of color as contributed by some pansies and a mum. And mixed in between - my personal favorite - sedum, along with a border of liriope. Yay! So happy!
