Going on a Squirrel Hunt.
Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 01:23PM (This post's caption was inspired by another recent library-trip acquisition, Going on a Bear Hunt.) We're settled in at Grandma and Grandpa T.'s house. And while they went out to re-stock their fridge after a week away, A. and I whipped up some oatmeal cookie batter, had a snack, then headed outside to search for squirrels (say "squirrel" to A. and she'll quickly drop her "nononono" and comply with all directives).
A. collected some leaves, hoping to use them to entice any potential squirrels into coming near us (yes, acorns are the better choice, but we couldn't find any of those).
Next, she considered setting a trap.
Then, we simply looked up into the trees and all around, hoping to spot at least one furry friend.
And, eventually, having not spotted a single squirrel (are they napping?), A. moved onto flower-touching and chair-climbing.
New spaces are so fun to explore!
