Reading Time.

During our stay at the N. home, the kiddos had some (literary and literal) down time - believe it or not. Friday night relaxed into a good bedtime vibe once S. and H. pulled out some of their favorite books to share with A. (and trust me when I say that they have a collection that rivals most libraries children's sections!).  A. loved cozying into H.'s big bed (which he gracefully turned over to us.  Thank you, H.!) and listening to stories, all the while holding onto S.'s early-childhood beloved Elmo (which she was given when she was about A.'s age now; thank you, S. for sharing such a dear toy!).

And today, the littles continued to enjoy the vast library at the N. home.  After A. woke up from a seriously good nap (that was preceded by some seriously long-lasting, heart-wrenching, tiring, dramatic and loud protesting since she very clearly preferred to play with the big kids), Ta-Ta (or Aunt) S. pulled out some more favorites to read.

I love these reading pictures (even though - oddly - the third one up is bizarrely inverted.  I'm not sure how I did that).  The children are clearly rapt and enjoying the books.  If only I'd written down some of the many books we had read while visiting.  We'll just have to return for another book fair!  Thank you, S., S., and H. for hosting and treating us to such a lovely, wonderful visit.  We wish we lived closer to you so we could enjoy more moments like these!
