Our (Eventual) Matisse.

While M. is hard at work in the basement (tiling, yes), I put A. in front of some water colors.  I wondered how they would go over since A. isn't a big fan of having "stuff" on her hands (she once took a wipe and placed it over the sandy handle of a push-toy at a park as if to say, "Ew.  I'm not touching that.").  But this hands-on activity was a winner. A. loved every minute of her painting (and truth be told, the stuff washes clean like nothing else).  And we love her art!  Must. Frame.

A. smeared and mixed and mixed and smeared (and she even spoke, identified, and chose her primary colors!  Sorry.  Proud mama moment, though it's papa who gets the credit for the teaching part).  And was this mama afraid of the paint disaster that might ensue?  Okay, I was a little aware of the fact that we have super-white walls between her painting project and the bathtub, but you know what?  I didn't show my fear (a no-no in my book where/whenever possible, though I'm certainly not without it) and we had fun.
