Play Time!

It has occurred to me that if we don't get out of the house now or have others over to visit, my late pregnancy could most certainly limit our opportunities to comfortably socialize!  So, for the month of January (and as long as possible in February), we're getting out our calendar and planning some fun.  It started last week with a visit from A.'s friend A., who gave her a deliciously cute hat.  It is so A. (And, just check out the state of my house . . .)

The kiddos had so much fun; they turned the place upside down and quietly played for hours.  Their mutual enjoyment and playtime easily allowed my OCD-self to overlook the mess (or as A. shrieked in the midst of playtime:  "BIG MESS!").  We had fun.  So, why not play again?  Friday, we took an especially long walk to a park, playing and meeting K. and A. (we walked so much, in fact, that the next day my legs felt as if I'd done 1,000 lunges, ouch).  Today, we visited our friend K. (unfortunately, her girls were at school, but we're planning a late-afternoon playdate two Mondays from now).  A. was so whipped from playing with a set of "new" toys (and admiring K.'s new parakeet, "Blueberry,") that she immediately fell asleep in the car (she's still sleeping now, in fact).

Tomorrow is lunch with friend R., then lunch with friends and their kiddos on Wednesday.  And I'm just going to keep planning, planning while I have the energy to get out and about.  Because, certainly, we're going to slow down in just a few months time (but hopefully rebound in some [albeit slower] capacity by Spring and Summer, right?) and miss these outings that, previously, we've taken for granted.
