Family-Of-Three Outing.

Okay, yes.  I am counting a bit.  And based on my current count, we have very few weekends left as a family of three (not like turning into a family of four is a bad thing.  No, no.  We're just feeling sentimental about our time with A.).  So, we pushed aside my long nesting list (mostly made up of tasks that are physically impossible for me to accomplish and, thus, require M.'s help) and headed into D.C. (While it may not appear to be the case, it was a "balmy" 45-degrees and sunny outside today; a lovely day for walking along the mall.)

(Thank goodness for big fluffy coats that hide big fluffy rear-ends . . . ) We decided to visit the Museum of Natural History and, specifically, the butterfly exhibit (if you recall, M. and I visited that exhibit the day I was due with A. and we took all sorts of neat pictures of butterflies landing on us).  A. was pretty excited to see the butterflies.

And we stumbled upon a few other exhibits we had never seen before, mainly the (new?) mammal exhibit. A. loved this.  And M. and I loved her loving it!

Then my legs became tired.  All of us became hungry.  And it was time to leave.  Oh, but not before stopping to watch the carousel.  But hunger won out over riding the horses.

We'll be back.  I announced to my little family that we should make an effort to head into the city at least once a month (which isn't much; again, we live two seconds from the city [or, a five minute drive; or, a four-stop metro ride).  Hold me to this, okay?  Even with a new baby.  D.C. it is.  Monthly (um, except for March, maybe). (Oh!  And as we add to our D.C. experiences, I'll add to this new photo gallery:  D.C. Days.  Enjoy!)
