HAPPY BIRTHDAY, M.!

Happy, happy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our most favorite, wonderful, selfless, caring, super-smart, resourceful, generous, kind, and super-duper husband and papa, M.! Honestly, this blog isn't devoted enough to M. I spend so much time writing about A. and my own thoughts and activities that all too many times the person who makes our lives as wonderful and funny and quirky and possible is left out.  Not today.  Today is his day.  We. LOVE. You.

And try as we might to make this day about M., he still managed to make his birthday and special day great for us.  He woke up bright and early to greet Miss A., despite encouragement from me to sleep in (for once!  He wakes up with A. every morning).  M. drove far, far away so A. could play indoors at a particular shopping mall and - among dozens of crawly, jumping kids - watched over her while I dashed off to find the perfect birthday cards.  And he shared his birthday lunch and treat (yum, Pinkberry!) with A. (and didn't complain once when the yogurt shop revealed they were out of the one topping he truly craved and looked forward to enjoying, mochi.  I, on the other hand, wanted to shout, "you MUST have some mochi back there, somewhere!!!").  Then, M. spent A.'s missed naptime at the library with her, reading her book after book while I searched for a new collection to see us through the arrival of baby Driscoll.  What a person, what a papa, what a husband.
