"Little Man" & A "Book 'Bout Thomas!"

Not a whole lot to report from our end, here.  The holidays are over.  Sigh.  M. has returned to work.  Double-sigh.  And A. and I are left to entertain ourselves.  (Not like that's a problem; just a matter of changing gears.  Besides, I'm armed with a new arsenal of Christmas-gift activities to keep the girl and I busy!)

So, what does our return-to- Mama-A. days hold for us?  Morning book reading in the the soon-to-be-phased-out crib.  A.'s crib-time favorite, as told to me by her before I took this picture:  "book 'bout Thomas!"

Then there's A.'s fascination with a cowboy figurine that came with a train village given to her by Uncle R.  She calls this rodeo dude, "Little Man," and seems to love him as much as her pal Mickey.

We also kicked off our return to the real, more-routinized world with a Whole Foods lunch to which we were invited by other pregnant mamas K. and J. and their kiddos. We couldn't pass up a chance to get out of the house and A. was especially happy to see friends A. and A.  And what a scene the 6 (or 9) of us were:  three 8-month pregnant mamas, due within 2-3 weeks of each other (Feb. 3, Feb. 16, and Feb. 24, to be exact) and three toddlers, all born within two weeks of one another (Mar. 16, Mar. 30, and April 1, to be exact).  The best part:  A.'s accidental dumping of goldfish beneath our booth.  AS IF any of us mamas could kneel down to gather that mess.  Sorry, Whole Foods.  I promise we'll make it up to you.

And so begins a new week without holidays.  Hold on tight!
