Is It Laziness?
Monday, October 24, 2011 at 03:24PM I really hate falling behind on the blog. I consider it a diary for our family, a collection of memories that we'll be so happy to look back on in the years to come. When I miss nearly a month of posting, I feel like I've tinkered with the sustainability our memories. Sigh. And I ask, "why can't I just write a post?! Am I lazy?" The answer is NO. N-O. NO. Who has time for laziness in a household with children? Laziness, my friend, simply is not an option. Just ask E., who is bounding with energy these days (thank you, neighbor R., for this much-appreciated contraption!).
(And thank you again neighbor R. for yet another much-appreciated contraption. Because of you and E.'s newfound joy, I managed to finish all of my laundry in ONE day! Imagine that!).
The days go by so quickly, too. Add to that an earlier bedtime for M. and I as we've decided that the only way to get a decent night's sleep is to go to bed by 10PM. And leading up to 10PM, there's so much to do! For instance, play on our beloved red blanket . . .
Basement-fun time, where we spend a LOT of time in our pjs or with our miniature friends (E., by the way, loves the blinky eyes on A.'s dolls).
Meet and have dinner with a dear (pregnant!) friend. (Thank you, E. for dinner!) Or, enjoy a dinner and weekend with another dear friend, E. And our other friends E., D., and little guy O. Or, visit mama R. and her new second baby E. (welcome, E! you are gorgeous! congratulations J. family!)
And, yes, we eat. And bake (it's especially fun with Grandma when she visits!)
And there's the post-dinner bath ritual. Who doesn't love that?
Oh, and the most important part of the day, which I often find to be woefully insufficient time-wise: playground time! Ah, Fall - we LOVE you!
We also love our walks to the local florist where we try to steal a glimps of A.'s cat buddies, Lilly and Lou (sister cats; both gray, though Lou has white paws).
Just yesterday, M., brother-in-law R., and I were just discussing how to feel more rested, yet accomplish more on a daily basis. One thought was shorter but more hours in a day. The other was simply more hours, to be used for sleep, not work. These are fair ideas. So, who do we call?
