"Grandma, Grandpa Coming!"
Friday, February 11, 2011 at 08:54PM Woo-woo! They're here! My parents arrived on Thursday to an ever-so waiting A., M., and I. Now, M. can focus on wrapping up some crazy work-related projects. I can start taking naps (which I totally did today; over 2 hours!). And, most importantly, A. can get outdoors and play with her adoring Grandma and Grandpa T.
In no time, Grandpa T. had A.'s car out of the basement and they were rolling down the train path. And, hallelujah, my parents have already been running her ragged! Not to mention that they both are helping me keep up with my great need to keep my nest neat and orderly at all times, you know, just in case.
We're so grateful for their company and help. I appreciate that they're so attached to and involved in A.'s life (as if I expected anything less and, let's be honest, who couldn't be attached to Miss A.?!). Anyone who knows me knows that I have a similar relationship with my grandparents. I was and remain extremely close to my grandparents and appreciate every ounce of contact we have. And I relish all the memories I have with them, too. I'm happy A. will have similar memories of her grandparents.
My only wish is that we could see them as often as I saw my grandparents while growing up (though, they've made serious concerted efforts at seeing us almost bi-monthly; for that, I am also grateful). And that goes for our all our relatives, too. Family is everything and I'm not sure where we'd be without ours.
