Baby D. Is Here! She's Here!
Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 07:10PM It's a girl!!! Early this morning at 2:09 A.M., our dear Emma Caroline made her stunning and easy appearance. She is a robust, rosy, and seriously cheeky 8lbs, 12oz and 21" gal (surprisingly larger than our 8lbs 5oz A.; everyone had predicted that this baby would be smaller. So much for that!) Welcome, Emma!
We've been asked how we arrived at her name. Honestly, we had a list of 5 or so names to choose from this morning and hers was the most effortless and contained the most ease, both of which describe her journey to join us. We became aware of that journey around 9:00 P.M. the previous evening, arrived at the hospital just after midnight, and added this beautiful addition to our family shortly thereafter.
And Miss A. couldn't be more thrilled to welcome her little gem of a sister. She immediately insisted, "hold it?!" And when she saw me feed little E., she laughed, "baby eat Mama's shirt!"
Oh, we're so happy this little gal finally decided to join us! The suspense was nearly debilitating! And there's so much, so much more to her birth story that I will share with you very, very soon (e.g., my baby-waiting strike, the thrill of having dear friend S. here, and the wacky day's events leading up to labor). Until then, we can't wait to see you, talk to you, and introduce you to our E.

Emma is so cute! I can't wait to meet her! I'm really excited to see Audrey too.
