"Look At THAT BABY!"
Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 12:39PM "Look at that baby!" and "SO cute!" and "BABY TALKIN'!" are the words most frequently out of A.'s mouth when she sees her sister. A. loves E., there's no doubt. Hers, though, is a kind of, um, aggressive love. She wants to kiss and pat and hold her baby all the time. Can you blame her? (By the way, please note the awesome, beautiful booties on E., compliments of cousin M. I want to dedicate a whole post to the goodies she sent; until then, check here for her own sweet post and to get a glimpse of her amazing and thoughtful handwork. Thank you, thank you, M.!!)
But we're also seeing some indications that A. would like no break in the attention paid to her. Last night, she did the unthinkable and entered never-before chartered waters: she took a marker and drew on our wall. Uf! I couldn't believe it, but then again, I could and can. Dear friend R. was over, bringing us dinner and this mama and papa were engaged in conversation with her. Well, that did it for our otherwise non-wall drawing A., who just knew a purple marker on our white wall would certainly grab her some attention - albeit it unhappy and firm attention. Sigh. We'll manage and A. will eventually get used to sharing the spotlight. Until then, we'll just take one day at a time (here, A. kinda refused to be in the picture).
Drawing, sisterly-love, and baby E. aside, we thank R. for treating us to a wonderful dinner of an insanely delicious quiche (can't wait for lunch leftovers today!), an amazing spinach salad (dressed with shards of parmesan and Trader Joe's Goddess Dressing. Totally yummy!) and a sinful caramel/chocolate/pecan tart, along with her fun company to boot. Thank you, thank you, R.!!!

Hi Corie. I hope you are recovering well. We found out about 'washable markers' the hard way too.:( Thanks for all the posts on Emma. The top picture in this post is my favorite.:) It's birth announcement worthy. She is just so pretty. Hang-in there. I know it's hard adjusting to life at home with #2. Have you started planning for 'A's' birthday yet?
It was my pleasure! I'm actually kinda mad at myself for not buying an extra torte for us. Sounds might good right about now. Wah woh!
emily: i just now started looking at birthday invitations! and, as for those stinkin' markers, they won't wash off walls . . . grrrr. must touch up with paint. oh, well - it was bound to happen, right? and thank you re: the top pictures. announcement picture is a great idea!!
rachael: oh, YUM. i'm lovin' the tort. i've had it twice per day. one down, another serving to go tonight ;) then it will, sigh, be gone. must enjoy that again soon!!!
