Head's Up, Eyes Open!
Friday, March 11, 2011 at 03:58PM Last night, E. was bobbin' her head with a bit more control. And her eyes were open, too! It's a miracle! The little gal is still very much in that newborn, post-birth stupor (you know she'll snap out of it once M. returns to work, right?) and any glimpse of those shiny, bright eyes are a definite treat.
As for our dear A., poor A.! She woke up last night just past 11PM with a 101.2 fever and a cold. Papa stayed up with her while her fever medicine kicked in and they didn't return to bed until nearly 2, when this Mama stepped in to read her to sleep, a moment shortened by little E.'s need for a feeding (woo-wee, are we staying busy or what?!).
A. is doing better today and she's chock-full-o' energy. She got off a good nap and she's her usual enthusiastic (um, and almost-2-and-totally-defiant) self, playing with her toys and somewhat thumbing her nose at authority. It's hard, though, explaining to her that now is not the time to kiss E., no matter how fierce her love is. The last thing we need is for a sicky-newborn. Oh, yikes. Let's not even go there . . . (though, I imagine the days of two sicky kids are not far off. Nope. Survival tactics, anyone?)

Poor A! I'm glad to hear that she's perkier today. Lovely photos of E! She looks so much more grown up with her eyes open, peeking over Mike's shoulder! Please tell her not to grow up too much before we're able to visit!
