Big Girl!
Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 09:09PM E.'s umbilical cord (well, the remaining bit!) finally gave way and allowed us to treat her to her first bath. Except, I'm not sure E. would agree with the word "treat." Er, no. In fact, she cried a good chunk of the time and refused to open her eyes (well, until M. started gently pouring warm water over her; she seemed to enjoy that).
Monday's first bath took me back to pictures M. took of E.'s first hospital bath. Our girl looks so giant/chubby/cheeky, especially the last picture (whoa!)! I just had to share these photos (E., when you're older and reading this, please forgive me. But look how cute you are!).
Big girl, right?! Pretty girl, yummy girl! And while I shouldn't reveal a lady's secrets, that same day we went to E.'s 2-week appointment where we learned our gal gained a good 2lbs and grew a good inch since her birth (she was 9lbs 10oz and 22.5" long). For a breastfeeding mama, the growth news is exciting and comforting. We (mama and E.) must be doing alright. Phew.
P.S.: Don't quote me on this, but I think E. might have curly hair. Could be wrong, could be wrong . . . only time will tell!

Emma, just want you to know when you read this: you didn't cry at all when the nurse bathed you. Every other baby in the nursery was crying except you. You were so calm! You made your poppa so proud on your birthday. We love you Emma!
