Memorial Day '11 - Monday AM - or - S.'s BIRTHDAY!

Oh, we hit the visitor jackpot Monday morning!  Sunday, we received a call from dear cousin S.  She and my second cousin I., her son, were in Charlottesville, VA, for the weekend and would be passing by Alexandria en route to their home in N.J.  Could we catch breakfast with them on Monday?  Of course!  Our pleasure! And, to boot, Monday was S.'s birthday!  S. who does so much for my girls, constantly thinking of them and sending them cards, gifts, and some of their most-loved and cherished activities and clothes (you know the blue cherry-blossom rain coat, right?  From S.  The dress-up clothes?  From S.  The bunny books? Yep, from S.!).  We could not wait to return the favor and treat her and I. to brunch and a little birthday dessert.

S. and I. arrived Monday morning just past 10AM.  We enjoyed catching up and playing with the girls. Then, M. and I thought we'd take a shot at a Creperie for brunch, choosing a place I had been to just once.  It's a quaint little place in the heart of Old Town, amid its row houses and shady cobblestone streets.  And it was so fun, so lovely!

Afterwards, we returned home to sing 'happy birthday' to S., presenting to her a minature fruit tart donned with a candle.  Then, we all enjoyed our own little individual tarts before we had to sadly let our dear relatives return to the road.  Thank you S. and I. for making time in your trip to see our family!  And happiest of birthdays to you S.! We're happy we could celebrate with you!
