Marina Park.
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 03:22PM This weekend after finding yet another park in our community I turned to M. and said, "I don't think I could live anywhere else!" We hopped in the car, unsure of the distance we might drive to find another park a parent told me about. The park we were initially searching for was tiny and not what I expected, but in our quest we passed this fun, fun, fun tunnel . . .
And so we parked our car and decided to walk through it. And on the other side we discovered Marina Park, which hosts a big hill, field, and an enclosed play area with beautiful views of the Potomac River and some of the oldest, most beautiful townhouses in Old Town (when I saw the real estate listings in this area I promptly said to M., "um, we won't be living in this neighborhood anytime soon - if ever.").
A. didn't seem as impressed with the views, but I sure enjoyed our surroundings. Mostly (and understandably), A. loved the tunnel. I mean, this tunnel was downright cool and made for some great echos. Ah, home sweet home. We're beginning to love you more and more.

We took Jules to that park before we moved and through that tunnel, which is very cool. It's not that big of a playground, but fun enough. And I actually have a friend who bought a house across the street from that park! I swear they must be independently wealthy because things in that area don't go for under $1 million. If you ever want a tour, let me know! She has two littles too so it could under the guise of a play date... ;)
We loved that park! It's little but is great with two kids. You never have to worry about the walker going far, especially with the gate. And you can keep your stroller contained w/o fear of losing it! We just went to an even smaller park today on Royal St. and Duke. Have you been? Loved that one, too! Ah, Old Town!
