Taking Shelter.
Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 11:32AM The last week included record-breaking June heat for our fair neck of the woods. Outdoor play simply wasn't an option. So, we resorted to recreating ourselves indoors, in the basement, away from the punishing sun.
Early in the morning, before the sun was too hot, we spent time on the patio, watering our thirsty flowers. Then, it was indoors from there. We painted. We danced. We lined up dolls in parade formation. We stacked legos. We played with animals. The kiddos did their usual napping. Oh, hot weather. I hope you're only temporary. May we have a park and outdoor-friendly summer? Please?
