Lake: Day 1.

Saturday, July 2, we arrived at our ultimate Michigan destination:  Pleasant Lake.  Ah.  Lovely.  But who knew it was going to be a record-breaking 99-degrees?  Um, not me.  Indeed, I thought I was falling ill I felt so hot and uncomfortable.  It couldn't possibly be the weather, no.  Actually, it was.  And while we weren't taking refuge in an air-conditioned structure, we did enjoy the relief the lake offered. Enter boat ride.

Enter CAPTAIN A.! (Thank you, Uncle J.!)

Here's E. asking, "you mean to say that I have to wear clothes today?  Explain why, please."

And here's E. thinking, "finally!  If only they'd remove the diaper, too."

The heat didn't affect A. all that much.  No, she was ready to fish (A. caught her first fish!!).  She even took a muggy, heat-lathered nap in her bloomers, then enjoyed greeting all of us from the steamy indoors.

E. finally surrendered and napped herself (for the weekend, she would sleep only in the stroller).

Then, while we prepped for dinner, it was front-yard time.

Thankfully, our lake adventure didn't end there.  Nope.  We headed back that Sunday and for the Fourth of July. But still not nearly enough time spent at the lake - if you ask me.
