"Wanna Go Swimmin'?"
Friday, July 22, 2011 at 10:04AM A.'s "Wanna Go Swimmin'?" is really her way of asking if she may go swimming. Well, of course, Get on your suit! Grandma and Grandpa T. set up a kiddie pool nearly every morning of our visit. Grandpa T. totally outdid himself, filling the pool with a hose and adding bucket after bucket of hot water to take some of the edge off the chilly water.
If E. could play in the pool, E. totally would have. Instead, she looked on with interest as A. got her swim on.
As the Michigan vacation wore on, the routine was this: morning, fill pool; early afternoon and during naptime, pool warms; late afternoon, A. swims. And she had many visitors join in her fun, playing with her while she splished and splashed.
Then there was always the cuddly dry-off time and post-swim snack.
I wish we could have brought the pool home, something my parents offered. But have you seen our patio? Yeah, no dice. It wouldn't fit. We'll settle for the sprinkler and our local community pool (which A. is totally loving these days since she can stand comfortably in the kid pool). And the pool at Grandma and Grandpa T.'s house will be one of those things the girls can look forward to each summer.
