Power's Out & Lake: Day 3.
Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:34AM Leaving the lake the previous night, we looked forward to resting and relaxing in my parents' air-conditioned home. About an hour or two into our return home and half-way into a much-needed laundry-sorting and laundry-starting session the. power. went. OUT. And the word from DTE? Power would be restored 48-hours later.
No big deal. We'd survive! We still relaxed that evening and made it through the stifling warm night. My dad made a Dunkin Donuts run the morning and M. and A. did some A.M. arts-and-crafts.
Then, of course, it was off to the lake where A. enjoyed every second she could playing with cousins L. & J. and swimming in a middle-of-the-lake sandbar.
The fun was so great that A. couldn't help but fall asleep on the boat ride back to the cottage, where we rested her on a cushy swing and sat with her while she snoozed in the fresh air. And then she woke up to laugh and follow cousin J. as he played in the water.
E. did a lot of relaxing, too. The entire weekend, really, was spent with E. - when not being held - calm and dozey in her stroller. (And, oh! By this point, we learned the power was restored at my parents' house. Thankfully, no 48-hour wait.)
And that was our last day at the cottage for the duration of our trip. Sigh. That place really is pretty nice. "Thank You" to our family for treating us to such a nice time - good company, good food, fishing, boating, swimming and all-things Pleasant Lake. Our weekend there was truly memorable.
