Visiting With Our Michigan Friends.
Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:07AM Okay, so, here's the skinny. After M. left MI, we missed him so. But we still very much enjoyed our July trip to Michigan, spending time with friends and family. It went by really too quickly. Hopefully next year this time we can plan to stay a little longer - time-wise and with our M.
We visited with our dear friends V. and her family and K. and her beautiful, beautiful girls. It's so hard to only have such a small sliver of time with people we love and miss so very much. I know they understand that if we could, we'd spend days more with them
Above, we're visiting V. and her family in my former hometown. V. - my maid of honor - and I go back twenty years - gasp! Up until last year, she was living in L.A. and we obviously rarely saw one another. A. loved her cat and, as you can see here, bunny figurines. E. loved V.'s dramatic faces and silliness (sorry, V., for the pajama shot!). For my part, I loved spending time with V., catching up, and I loved her Italian mama's isanely delicious lunch.
Next up is our visit with K. and her daughters. Now, K. and I go back 28 years! We met in first grade. And thanks to Facebook, we've reunited after a - wow - almost 20-year lapse.
K.'s girls seemed to really, really enjoy meeting E. (they were, after all, the first people to learn that I was expecting E. way back when). And A. loved their guniea pigs and playing with all the girls and their toys.
Lucky for me, these visits weren't my only ones with dear friends V. and K. V. and I spent one evening hanging out, which including a rousing game of miniature golf. And K. and I indulged a completely kid-free grown-up dinner in Ann Arbor (woo-woo!). Thank you, ladies, for making our trip to Michigan so great!
