Fall, We Welcome You.
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 03:49PM I don't know if it's age or if it's the ultra-humid D.C. summers, but I am so excited for cool, corduroy-and-long-sleeve weather. Fall, the Driscoll family welcomes you with wide-open arms! And for my recent birthday, we kicked off our most-welcome season with a peaceful Sunday morning drive to Bluemont, Virginia where we visited Great Country Farms (see the picture gallery here).
We enjoyed a morning of wagon riding, apple picking (and munching), playing in the grass, and visiting with many of the farm's animals. A., for her part, greeted each animal with that animal's respective noise (so, imagine, when she approached a rooster, she said, "cockadoodledooooo!"). E., for her part, enjoyed playing with the grass and her first taste of a freshly-picked apple (the best should could, not having teeth and all).
Pumpkin season on the farm begins the last week in September. And, hopefully, we'll be back to enjoy yet another idyllic Fall morning.
