She's Moving; I'm Tired.
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 04:02PM E., boy, she's keeping all of us busy. Our once sleepy-infant-now-not-an-infant is on the move. She's belly-scooting all over the floor (her crawl is not yet perfected and I'm trying to discourage any progress) and getting her tiny hands and mouth on everything in sight. Add to that, two shorter-than-normal naps (say, an hour and twenty minutes or so each?), and a busy 2-and-a-half year old, time is disappearing!
E. still has yet to sprout her two bottom teeth, though she's trying mighty hard to get them out. She enjoys mealtime and sticks to purees. She's a big fan of butternut squash and sweet-potato-flavored whole-grain cereal. We're teaching E. the usual sign-language signs ("more", "milk", "eat", "diaper change," etc.). She goes from 0 to 10 with little effort, prompting M. to sometimes affectionately refer to her as Emma-'bout-to-lose-it or Emm-inal. It's almost impossible to dress or change the diaper of this wiggle worm, too. E. can sit up unsupported with some help, and her night-time sleep is back to being full and uninterrupted, affording the otherwise-tired mama and papa mostly good nights of sleep.
(As I finish typing this post, A. is sleeping and E. is gazing at herself in a mirror, laughing. Dinner is prepped and waiting for the stovetop, laundry is caught-up, dishwasher is empty, the girls and I took a walk today, and I'm actually feeling like this day is shaping up to be a good one. Wew. Knock on wood.)
